In the process of of working with several clients, I have found that one of their biggest concerns is the ability for users to easily find their site on google. This is a very valid point, and one that I write into all web applications that I build.

Upon looking at a client’s site, I find that there are several simple things that have not been done. In reality, there is no magic SEO bullet. There is no magical incantation that can bring the entirety of the internet to your front door. The problem I find is that while no such bullet exists, there is an unlimited number of people out there willing to sell it.

That being said, there are things that can be done to make sure that google can find and index your site. After that, the game really turns into a marketing game. A game where you need to do things like: provide good service, provide a good product, provide a product that people want to talk about and purchase. These things are out of the scope of my services (but I can help push you into the right direction).

I can, however, help you with the technical details. These include:

• Assuring that your site has a google compatible sitemap. This sitemap allows google to index your site, and include all pages (even the deeply nested ones.)
• Assuring that google knows where to find this sitemap, and can use it each time your site is indexed.
  Assuring that the files that google is looking for are in place.
• Set your site up with Google Analytics, to allow you to check on the progress of your efforts.

The above points assume that you have used a modern content management system to develop your website. These systems allow your sitemap to be built automatically, and updated automatically whenever your site changes. My efforts will help you work with this data. If your site does not fall into this category, there might be more work to be done. Upon initial investigation, I can help you out with your options.

While a full marketing campaign might require at least a year of targeted effort by a marketing firm, I can help you get your site properly indexed and ready to reap the benefits of such a campaign in two months.
